Hi Nameless Salon,
We had a rousing discussion today on exploitation in the U.S. We considered the roles of capitalism, the media, and greed in perpetuating inequality. We talked about radical communities around the world that are experimenting with new ways of living together, and countries where a larger proportion of the citizens are comfortable and happy.
I think we have a great foundation for the show, and that it's time to get to work! There are three aspects that you can focus on: 1) Exploitation that is occurring. 2) The process of ending exploitation and bringing about equality and prosperity. 3) A world of the future, without exploitation.
The show will be in late January or early February.
Please respond to this post if you would like to participate. You can contribute visual art, writing, spoken word, music, film, or anything else that the space can accommodate. Although the space isn't booked yet, I would like to get an idea of how many people want to participate, and what type of work you would like to share. Also please post if you have any questions or suggestions.
Thanks!
I'd like to contribute writing and possibly a few small paintings. I'm interested in creating short creative non-fiction pieces about experimental communities, and would love to collaborate with visual artists and other writers.
